Arabian Gulf League champions Al Ain will continue their quest for more trophies this season, coach Zoran Mamic said ahead of the UAE President's Cup semis clash against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai.
Mamic assured Al Ain were prepared for the big day despite a consuming League match against Al Nasr on Saturday. "The break between our last match against Al Nasr and this one is not enough but this is part of our job. We are aware of what we are meant to do on Wednesday," the coach said during a post-match press conference.
Al Ain took the League title and will be vying for both the President's Cup and the AFC Champions League - to complete a grand treble. The Croatian said top teams like Al Ain always harbour bigger ambitions and all the players were determined to fulfil the club's ambition.
"Big teams compete to win all the titles. Our next step is to qualify for the President's Cup finals. Our sights are set on winning the President's Cup, which is our top priority at the moment. As soon as we are done with the President's Cup, we will focus on the AFC Champions League," he said serving a warning to rest of the clubs.
The coach said he isn't much worried thinking about the opponents. Giving him confidence is the fact that Al Ain got a fully fit squad with no injuries and suspensions.
"We will play with full power. I have full confidence in my players' potential to raise their level of performance. I am not thinking too much about Shabab Al Ahli but focusing more on preparing my team to get the needed result."
He pointed out that players at Al Ain were capable of realising any set goal and live up to the expectations of fans. "Al Ain have enjoyed fabulous support from loyal fans," Mamic said thanking the massive followers and urged all of them to turn up in numbers on Wednesday.
Al Ain midfielder Rayan Yaslam said the 'Boss'  will put best efforts to get a positive result and march into the finals. "We are focusing fully on reaching the President's Cup final. This is our present target and in line with team's match-by-match strategy," the Emirati player said.
Al Ain and Shabab Al Ahli clash at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium on Wednesday.
