
Turkmenistan, Japan Chart Path For Future Co-Op In High-Level Talks
During the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further developing the partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan across political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian areas.
Particular attention was given to the importance of interparliamentary cooperation, which was highlighted as a key instrument for deepening mutual understanding and strengthening trust between the peoples of the two nations.
President Berdimuhamedov praised the role of the friendship group in fostering bilateral relations and emphasized its contribution to the ongoing development of cooperation between the two countries.
The Turkmen leader arrived in Japan to participate in the upcoming international exhibition“EXPO 2025” in Osaka.
Meanwhile, Japan's exports to Turkmenistan in January 2025 totaled 360.78 million yen ($2.4 million), reflecting a notable decline from previous months. For comparison, exports in December 2024 amounted to 437.64 million yen ($3.3 million), while November exports were recorded at 708.18 million yen ($5.3 million). The highest export volume in 2024 was recorded in May, reaching 770.25 million yen ($5.8 million).
