“We have a considerable number of personnel,” said Wanky during a briefing of the inter-agency group Regional Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center-6 here on Friday, April 11.

Wanky is finalizing the deployment with the police chiefs of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the regional capital of Iloilo City

“We don’t need to import from Negros Occidental. We already have new (police) graduates,” Wanky said, referring to the Negros Island Region police headquarters relaunched last month.

Chaired by the Commission on Elections-6, the RJPSCC-6 is also composed of the 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army and the Philippine Coast Guard-6.

Comelec-6 Regional Director Dennis Ausan said security personnel are essential for the election process in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Iloilo City.

Ausan said they are coordinating for the logistics, including the delivery of voting machines, counting machines, and other election paraphernalia.

In far-flung areas, soldiers under the 3rd ID and PCG are augmenting the police and Comelec-6 in their delivery and election personnel.
