Edinson Cavani has reportedly decided against staying at Manchester United beyond this season and wants to move to Boca Juniors.

The Uruguay international has impressed during his brief time at Old Trafford and it was thought he would stay for at least one more season.

However, reports in Argentina claim he will reject an offer to extend his time in the Premier League in favour of a return to South America.

According to Ole, Cavani has decided he is finished in European football and has chosen to move to Boca.

The striker, who has scored six goals in nine Premier League starts, would take a pay cut to join the Argentine giants and plans to sign a three-year contract.

Cavani has long been an admirer of the Buenos Aires side and has spoken with Boca president Juan Roman Riquelme in the past in order to ensure he would move to Argentina.

He grew up watching Boca and has dreamt of wearing the famous blue and gold jersey.

The 34-year-old has been in Europe since leaving Uruguayan side Danubio for Italian outfit Palermo in 2007.

After a successful loan move to Napoli in the 2010-11 season, he sealed a permanent transfer to Naples where he established himself as one of Europe’s top marksmen.

A mega-money move to Paris Saint-Germain followed, with Cavani notching 200 goals for the Parisians.

After leaving PSG on a free transfer, he signed for Manchester United and has earned plaudits for his performances in the twilight of his career.

Most expected Cavani to extend his stay but if these reports are accurate, Manchester United will be left with a striking hole in their squad once more.
