Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), and Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, participated today at the inaugural ‘I AM QF’ event, which brought together thousands of employees, faculty members, and students from across the QF community at the Qatar National Convention (QNCC).

The event is designed to highlight QF as an exemplary organization delivering impact on a local, regional and international level and to give employees the chance to provide feedback and offer input into the future of the organization. The gathering also highlighted QF’s achievements during its 22-year history as well as outlining its plans for the future.

Speaking at the event, Her Highness Sheikha Moza said: “The work that you’ve been doing through all these years, planting the seeds of a culture of quality education, innovation, and collaboration has allowed us during this difficult time to come together, members of this organization and also partners, to reflect, to look inwards, and to bring the best of human minds to the best of human kind.”

H.E. Sheikha Hind spoke of how QF has continuously risen up to meet the challenges faced by Qatar, and of the organization’s role into the future: “There will always be challenges – whether they be economic, political or even environmental, but we have to ensure we are ready to face them. Through these challenges, we find new ways to push ourselves to do more. We now have to look forward, continue our journey, and go further to surpass even our own expectations.

The event also included a questions and answers session with senior QF officials and university presidents with questions coming from staff in an open and candid forum.

The activities, were divided into three main sections: ‘The Bigger Picture of QF’, providing information about the different centers and entities that make up the organization; ‘The Future of QF’, detailing the organization’s future from an employee’s perspective; and ‘What We Can Achieve Together’, showcasing the impact QF has upon the nation and the wider world, working across its key mission areas of Pre-University Education (PUE), Higher Education, Science and Research, and Community Development.

Mrs. Machaille Al-Naimi, President of Community Development, QF, said: “Qatar Foundation has been delivering impact for more than 22 years, and, in this time, has grown rapidly, continuously building and developing the organization. Through I AM QF, we are delighted to bring together the entire QF family – every center, entity, and project – to give our employees a platform to voice feedback, comments, and concerns, while providing input into the future of the organization.”

Dr. Hamad Al-Ibrahim, Executive Vice President, QF R&D, spoke about the future, saying: “It’s through our diverse entities and dedicated employees that QF is serving Qatar and supporting the country on its journey to becoming a diversified and sustainable economy. As we move forward, we will continue working diligently to become a national resource of knowledge, and a hub of innovation and intellectual capacity. At QF, we have a long-standing history of turning our ambitions into action.”

Mrs. Buthaina A. Al Nuaimi, President of PUE, QF, added: “I AM QF represents a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate to our diverse community how important every part of this organization is towards fulfilling QF’s overarching mission and vision. It’s a chance to show our members how their work contributes to the overall success of QF, and we want to use this occasion to thank all our employees, faculty members, and students for their ongoing dedication and commitment.”

Throughout the day, senior staff and other QF community members gave talks to employees focusing on their entity, center, or department as part of the ‘Discover QF’ event.

Mrs. Mayan Zebeib, Chief Communications Officer, QF, said: “At Qatar Foundation we believe our employees are our greatest asset. Therefore, our exciting range of I AM QF activities have been specially designed to provide attendees with a unique opportunity to engage, interact, and network with their fellow QF members as well as members of the leadership team, helping to create greater connections across our diverse community. Together, we are committed to working towards further advancing this nation.”

Other team-building activities, interactive events, and networking opportunities included: ‘Travel Through Education City’, a digital and interactive representation of Education City, which allowed employees to discover the stories behind various buildings on site; and ‘Come Together for Qatar’, an area dedicated to quotes and slogans that demonstrate QF’s role in supporting the country, particularly in light of the current blockade.

Additionally, students from QF’s Hamad Bin Khalifa University and QF’s partner universities were given the chance to exhibit their work.
